SOUTHERN CROSS COUNTRY LEAGUE 2016/17

SXCL.png

The Southern Cross Country League gives runners of all abilities a chance to be part of a team running across courses varied with woodland, trail, parkland, mud and puddles! All the runs are around 5 miles in length and the atmosphere is one of friendly competition. There are 22 clubs in the league so lots of camaraderie and friendly club rivalry. The first 5 males and 3 females score league points but all team members contribute to the SPR result by finishing ahead of other clubs scorers. For a small donation of £2 pp there is a lovely selection of savouries/cakes/tea and coffee at the end of the race!

SPR have a ladies and a men's team in the league each year and there is no limit to the number in the teams. There is a programme of 7 races and they all start at 11 am on Sundays. All races are free, they are fully marshalled and very well organised. Great fun is had by all if you're not adverse to a bit of muddy running so whether you are a regular SXCL team member or new to the club and/ or to XC running come along and give it a try.

We usually meet at SPR and car share where possible. If members are making their own way directions can be found on the Southern Cross Country league website page http://www.bobayer.com/trwl/

A full list of the runs will be posted on the SPR Facebook page and notices will be given out on club nights. So get those trail shoes out and let's get a complete ladies and men's team out there each month.

If you have any queries you can message or email me through the SPR email or Facebook.
