Edinburgh Marathon Festival 2014

In May this year, 6 SPR club members and partners travelled to Edinburgh to take part in the annual Edinburgh Marathon Festival. The Festival consists of 5K and 10K races on the Saturday, followed by the half marathon and full marathon on the Sunday. The atmosphere across the weekend was fantastic with more and more people wearing the official blue Festival shirts as the weekend progressed, and more and more sporting their medals.

Deborah Wyatt and Louisa Eason ran the 10K on the Saturday. This was Louisa's first official 10K and we thoroughly enjoyed the very scenic, if not very hilly, route around Arthur's Mount. Mark Burrell and Richard Williams completed the half marathon on the Sunday with Ben Eason completing his second marathon this year.

Whilst the weekend was primarily about running, we did manage to find plenty of time to do some sightseeing, visit a few lovely restaurants and enjoy the local tipple.

For anyone wanting to experience the atmosphere of a running Festival, this is the one for you. And a couple of those who took part this year have already booked their place for 2015! Entries are open now via this link http://www.edinburgh-marathon.com/
